MERAKAN LITE — DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT
Effective Date: 15 October 2026
Version 2026-10-15
This page explains how the owner of a MERAKAN Lite account can request deletion of the account and what happens afterwards. It summarizes the Terms & Conditions (Sections 55 to 58) and the Privacy Policy (Sections 22 and 23), which govern.
1. How to Request Deletion
- In the application: the account owner signs in at app.merakan.com, opens Settings and, under “Delete account”, selects “Request account deletion” and confirms.
- By email: the account owner writes to support@merakan.com from the account’s registered email address.
2. Seven-Day Withdrawal Period
A deletion request is subject to a seven-day withdrawal period. During this period the account is read-only for all its users, and export remains available. A request made in the application can be withdrawn from Settings; a request made by email can be withdrawn by email to support@merakan.com. For a request made by email, the seven-day period starts when MERAKAN has verified the request with the account’s registered email address.
3. What Is Deleted, and When
After the withdrawal period ends, the whole account — its invoices and document images, attachments, notes, expenses, team members, settings, usage records and its audit log — is deleted within 30 days (Terms Section 56).
4. What Remains After Deletion
- Electronic acceptance records: for up to 24 months after deletion (Terms Section 57).
- Where used, the trial-abuse marker (a keyed fingerprint, not the email address): for up to 24 months (Terms Section 32).
- Backups: until they expire, within 97 days (Terms Section 58).
- Database point-in-time recovery: deleted records remain recoverable for 7 days.
- Deleted files in storage soft delete: 7 days.
- Platform administrative and security logs: up to 400 days; request and application logs: 30 days.
- A record of the erasure (account identifier, request reference and dates), kept only to re-apply the erasure after a restore from backup, until the backups from which the account could be restored have expired; then deleted.
- Where the owner joined the sign-up waiting list: that entry (email address, language and position), which is removed on request to support@merakan.com.
- Emails exchanged with support@merakan.com, including an emailed deletion request, which are kept as business correspondence for no longer than six years after the last message (Privacy Policy Section 22).
5. Subscriptions
Deleting the account does not by itself reverse a charge already processed. Where a paid website subscription exists and the integration supports it, MERAKAN will request its cancellation as part of the deletion; please confirm in the Paddle billing interface that future renewals have stopped (Terms Section 55). Unused units, including purchased add-on units, are forfeited when the account is deleted, except where a refund is required by law or available under Paddle’s applicable refund terms (Billing & Refund Policy, Section 5).
6. Before You Request Deletion
The account owner can export the account’s active invoices in Excel format from within the application, including during the withdrawal period. Document images can be opened full-size from their document pages and saved through the browser; bulk export of document images is not currently available (Privacy Policy Section 33).
